M:
Hi there, 941 family!
Are you the kind of person who only enjoys waking up in the morning because you know you’ll be able to get your hands on a warm cup of coffee? That’s me.
Do you have afternoon iced latte cravings even though you promised yourself you wouldn’t have more than one a day in 2019? I sure do.
It’s time to make your one coffee a day count! (Or give you an excuse to break that promise and have two!)
E:
I’m on the coffee bandwagon as well, so no judgment here! In fact, I’m pretty positive caffeine runs through my veins, so getting my morning or mid-afternoon coffee is a definite must! With that said, we understand that convenience is just as key as the quality of your cup of joe!
In downtown Bradenton, Megan and I were able to visit three diverse coffee shops with varying atmospheres, unique drink styles and inviting environments.
With three options to choose from, wherever your morning or midday craving takes you, you are guaranteed to not only thoroughly enjoy your drink of choice, but you will be greeted by friendly baristas equipped to make your day- one cup of coffee at a time!
Oscura Cafe & Bar
M:
Oscura Cafe & Bar is one of the newest coffee spots in Downtown Bradenton. Its open environment and modern minimalist design create the perfect environment for a morning wake-up coffee, an afternoon study session, or a post-work happy hour.
While I have not yet tried their selection of beers and wines, I have made trips for both morning caffeine and an afternoon pick-me-up. My personal favorites are the Iced Vanilla Latte and Chai.
Open 7am-9pm weekdays, 7am-10pm Fridays & Saturdays, and 9am-5pm Sundays, I’ve rarely seen Oscura empty. Guests are reading, studying, playing board games, and documenting their experience with excellent photos.
Creating a variety of pastries and foods, Oscura is also gaining popularity as a place to stop for a lunch break in Downtown Bradenton. I am impartial to the Turkey & Brie but have also heard the Avocado Toast is more than worth a trip to Oscura Cafe.
E:
I too, have had the chance to visit Oscura Cafe & Bar on more than one occasion. From their Lavender Iced Latte to their Blackberry Jasmine Green Tea, the careful attention to detail and quality is obvious.
While you’re enjoying your cup of coffee, sandwich or glass of wine, Oscura also provides a wide variety of books to read while on your lunch break or as a much needed break from studying those boring textbooks. (It’s okay, we won’t tell!)
Additionally, you can find an updated schedule for live music and trivia nights that you won’t want to miss HERE.
Tellers
E:
Tellers is one of the most unique and enjoyable atmospheres we had the opportunity to visit. As a bank turned coffee shop, this outdoor walk-up environment is one of a kind and even an excellent place to bring your fur-baby if you so desire.
When you place your order at the window, you will certainly be greeted with a smiling face and a stellar cup of coffee.
Their dairy-free milk and whipped cream options {yes I said dairy-free whipped cream} provides options for varying needs and preferences.
So, treat yourself. Visit Tellers. Get the whipped cream. You deserve it.
M:
If you’re a Bradenton Lifer, you may remember the current Tellers building as an old Bank of America. Instead of dropping by to cash checks, guests can now pick up an Iced Mocha or Nitro Brew (my personal faves)!
Tellers currently operates as a coffee shop during the mornings, but the owners intend to extend operating hours by building an after-hours beer garden in the future. Stay tuned, it’s going to be a food truck lover’s heaven!
Tellers Coffee is an affordable coffee option with the average drink ranging in price from $2-$4. The owners have succeeded at creating a quick, simple, and affordable coffee purchasing experience without compromising on quality or customer service!
Give it a try & let us know your thoughts!
WARNING: Tellers’ hours are 7am-3pm on weekdays! Sadly, they will not be there to cure your craving on the weekend.
Farmhouse
E:
Farmhouse is the perfect place for a little self indulgence. Their coffee, doughnut and wide range of rustic home decor for sale, offers a 3-in-1 stop for a mid day treat.
Conveniently located on the corner of Manatee Ave and 9th St E, the Farmhouse is an effortless and rewarding stop amidst your daily routine.
I highly recommend their cold brew iced coffee with a splash of vanilla almond milk, but I’m sure you won’t be disappointed by whatever you choose!
M:
My day job’s office is a three and a half minute drive from Farmhouse. It’s been all too big of a temptation, y’all! I can’t help myself from regularly stopping by for a few donuts and my personal favorite – the salted caramel iced latte.
There is nothing like a good donut and coffee combo.
We’d highly recommend stopping by Farmhouse on your next trip to downtown Bradenton or your next drive on 64 from east to west Bradenton. You won’t be disappointed – by the coffee, the donuts, or the true farmhouse ambiance.
We hope you keep this short guide in mind as you visit downtown Bradenton!
