I don’t know about you (you ladies, that is), but I don’t feel complete without having my nails painted. I have been doing gel polish and/or dip nails for years; and as you could imagine, my nails are being destroyed!
Terrible, I know! *facepalm*
So, when we were contacted by Maria and invited to The Studio for manicures using a product called Dazzle Dry, I was extremely excited but I certainly had my doubts.
Polish never seems to stay on my nails and I legitimately hate the drying process that regular polish requires. But– I’m now writing this article over a week later and I still have no chips or cracks and they’re still shiny!
Oh, and did I mention that they were totally dry in 5 minutes flat!? I know. I’m shocked too!

I’m the kind of gal who tries to paint her own nails & has a minimum of 3 chipped nails by day 4. When Maria told us that her Dazzle Dry nails dried in 5 minutes and lasted for 7-14 days without chips, I was amazed.

Q: Introduce yourself! How long have you been doing Dazzle Dry at The Studio of SGCO?
“Hello my name is Maria Sosa. I am a lifelong resident of Palmetto with 20 plus years experience in natural nail care.

Q: What is the inspiration behind The Studio of SGCO?
“I owned Posh Salon, a full service salon for years. I wanted to simplify my life so I sold my salon. While in search of simplifying my life I found this small studio on the third floor of The Crusader building. It was just what I needed– small, cute and cozy. A space where I could also grow my second business, SGCO Apparel. A year and a half ago I moved downstairs where I doubled my space and gained more exposure.”
Q: How did location play into account as you decided to find a space for your Nail Salon?
“I wanted smaller, cute and cozy. The character of an almost 100 year old building was a very warm feeling and the view of the Manatee River from the third floor is breath-taking . So who wouldn’t want to escape from life for a few hours once a week?”
Q: We heard that you’re renovating! What can prospective clients be looking for down the road?
“Yes, I am! I’m always changing it up! ‘There is no growth without change.’
Back in March I was hired as an REA (Regional Education Ambassador) for Dazzle Dry! This will require me to do trainings outside of The Studio 5 to 10 days at a time, so I need to hire a Nail Tech.
I’m also bringing a more modern flare to The Studio and adding another nail station as well as another pedicure chair! I’m so excited because it should be completed November 1st just in time for season.”
Q: What is your ultimate favorite polish color?
“That’s a hard question….. Dazzle Dry has over 200 colors and I love them ALL! A good red is always my go-to. I really like Rapid Red, a beautiful red that goes with everything!”
Q: What makes The Studio of SGCO unique?
“The Studio of SGCO Apparel is a Nails, Skin Care and Waxing Boutique that is 100% fume-free and non-toxic and I only offer natural nail care services. I am the only one in this area to carry Dazzle Dry and I have to say my life has changed since making the switch! I absolutely love coming to work again! Mainly because I’m no longer working with any harsh chemicals that were affecting my body and health. My facials are one of a kind and extremely relaxing, so come escape for an hour! Facials start at $65. In addition to salon services, I also carry my brand of clothing, SGCO Apparel, along with some other boutique items from local artists.”
Q: What is your favorite part living in the 941?
“I was born and raised here and I love the quaintness of a small town. My whole family lives here, minus my oldest son who lives in Virginia Beach. We also have some beautiful beaches and lots of warm weather.”
