Conveniently located off of Manatee Avenue, The Bungalow of Bradenton is a small vintage home decor store offering one-of-a-kind hand-picked items.

Each month, they do a store flip where new items are brought in and a new color accent is chosen to incorporate throughout providing new opportunities to decorate your home each month!

They are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 3pm, as well as Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.

We have taken multiple trips to the Bungalow & there are always new treasures to be found. The atmosphere is light and airy; it’s the kind of place you’d like to come to and stay for a while.

Whether you’re a novice home decorator or a vintage collector, you’ll find something you “need.”

We asked the owners, lifelong best friends, Shawna & Staci a few questions about the Bungalow.

Q: How long ago did you open The Bungalow of Bradenton?

“We bought the building last May and opened on December 21st, 2018.”

Q: What is the inspiration behind The Bungalow?

“We met the first day of 6th grade. We have helped each other remodel homes over the years and felt like this was the next adventure we wanted to tackle.”

Q: How did location play into account as you decided to open the store?

“The location meant a great deal for us. Having a property on Manatee Ave was a dream and the best part was the little bungalow was built in 1911; which helped us create the vibe we wanted to have for the shop. We really do feel that it was meant to be.”

Q: What is your favorite item sold at the Bungalow?

“Our favorite item has to be our candles. To be able to develop our signature scent along with our seasonal scents is a dream come true. Our customers agree because we can’t keep them in stock. As far as the furniture, we love all our pieces. We don’t buy a piece that we don’t love and wouldn’t put in our own homes.”

Q: Do you offer gift cards or gift certificates?

“Yes, we do. We’ve had visitors from out of town come into our shop and call back to have us send gift certificates to their friends and family here in town. Some of our regular customers gave their husbands the hint at Valentine’s Day to stop in and get them a gift certificate. It was busy that week.”

Q: What makes The Bungalow of Bradenton unique?  

“The Bungalow really is a modern boutique with a vintage charm. Our mission is to allow homeowners to have a home they love at an affordable price. You should love the space you live in and be able to create that space without breaking the bank. Being able to introduce vintage pieces in a home instantly brings character and charm to the space.”

Q: What is your favorite part living in the 941?

“This is home. Growing up here and seeing how much the town continues to develop and grow is amazing. Now, becoming business owners in a community we have grown up in has been such a great experience. The support the community has given us has been overwhelming and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
